We are adding a new feature to our Rabattcorner browser add-on: Starting today, the add-on will—if you choose—compare product prices on selected Swiss online stores with those of our partner stores, in addition to the familiar cashback reminder. To mark this occasion, we have updated our Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy. The new versions are effective as of today, May 7, 2026.

Note: The new add-on version with the price comparison feature is currently still being reviewed by the browser stores (Chrome Web Store, Firefox Add-ons, Edge Add-ons, Safari Extensions Gallery). Once it has been approved, the update will be automatically available to you.

An overview of the changes

Changes to the Terms and Conditions

• Section 1 – Scope: The browser add-on is now part of our “Rabattcorner platforms” (along with the website and app).
• Section 3.4 – Payment Requirements: Formulated in a technology-neutral manner. Cashback will now also be credited when a redirect is correctly triggered by the add-on—not just via the website or app.
• Section 3a – Browser Add-on (new): Describes the installation process, the two features (cashback reminder and automatic price comparison), and how to uninstall the add-on at any time.
• Section 6.5 – Liability: It is clarified that the price comparison results displayed in the add-on are for informational purposes only. The actual price in the online store is binding.

Changes to the Privacy Policy

• Section 5 – Google Analytics 4: We have replaced Google Universal Analytics with Google Analytics 4. Data processing continues to be carried out only with your consent via the cookie banner.
• Section 6a – Google Display & Video 360 (new): We use DV360 to manage and measure the performance of our display, video, and audio ads. The data processed includes cookie/advertising IDs, truncated IP addresses, device information, and interaction data—exclusively with your consent via the cookie banner, which you may revoke at any time.
• Section 22 – Browser Add-on (new): Provides a detailed description of the data transmitted during price comparisons (URL, product name, price, store), stating that this data is processed without any personal references and is not shared with third parties.
• Section 23 – Affiliate Service Providers: List of affiliate networks and direct partners updated.
• Section 28 – Your Rights: Please note that for users in the EU, the GDPR also applies based on the market location principle. Your rights are listed in the relevant articles of the revDSG and the GDPR.
• Transfers to third countries (multiple sections): The Privacy Shield is a thing of the past. We now consistently cite the correct legal basis for data transfers to the U.S.: the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).

Why these changes?

The main reason for this is the addition of a new price comparison feature to our browser add-on: our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy must clearly address this feature, particularly which data is processed during price comparisons and how cashback activation works via the add-on. At the same time, we are taking this opportunity to update our privacy policy to reflect current legal and technical developments (including the discontinuation of the Privacy Shield, the use of Google Analytics 4, and the planned integration of Google Display & Video 360). This ensures transparency regarding what data we process, when, and for what purposes.

What does that mean for you?

For you, practically nothing will change in how you use Rabattcorner: You can continue to earn and redeem cashback as usual. If you continue to use Rabattcorner starting today, the new Terms and Conditions will automatically apply. If you do not agree with the changes to the Terms and Conditions, you may object in writing or by email to support@rabattcorner.ch within 30 days of the publication of this notice (this constitutes termination in accordance with Section 8.1).

The browser add-on remains optional: If you’ve already installed it, you’ll automatically receive the new price comparison feature with the next update—as soon as the browser stores have released it. If you’re not yet using the add-on, you can install or uninstall it at any time. The price comparison feature will only work if you keep it enabled in the add-on.
