The following explains what data Rabattcorner collects, processes, and uses, as well as when and for what purpose.
The controller within the meaning of data protection regulations is Rabattcorner AG, Lessingstrasse 11, 8002 Zurich, Switzerland. The legal basis for data processing is Art. 31(1) revDSG or—where applicable—Art. 6(1)(a) (consent), (b) (performance of a contract), and (f) (legitimate interest) of the GDPR.
You can visit Rabattcorner without providing any personal information. Rabattcorner stores non-personally identifiable data, such as the website from which you accessed Rabattcorner, the name of your Internet service provider, or the names of the files you requested and the date they were accessed. This data is used solely to improve the content on Rabattcorner and does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about your identity.
Rabattcorner collects personal data only if you voluntarily provide it to Rabattcorner. This occurs, for example, when you create a user account, participate in the cashback program, or sign up for the newsletter. Rabattcorner uses and stores the data you provide solely for the purpose for which you expressly and voluntarily provided it to Rabattcorner, in particular to fulfill and process your participation in the cashback program or to send you the newsletter.
When you register on Rabattcorner, you will be explicitly asked to confirm that you have read and understood the Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy. By doing so, you consent to the use of your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
When participating in the cashback program, your personal data will be used without your separate consent only to the extent necessary for Rabattcorner to provide or perform the service.
For the purpose of processing your cashback payment, your information will only be shared with the bank or PayPal designated by Rabattcorner to facilitate the transfer of funds.
Rabattcorner will not disclose personal data to third parties without your express consent, unless Rabattcorner is legally required to disclose such data to the authorities or unless Rabattcorner engages third parties who are bound by professional confidentiality obligations to enforce its claims.
If you submit requests for retroactive commission payments to Rabattcorner, Rabattcorner may, on a case-by-case basis, share your data with the relevant affiliate marketing agency and its e-commerce provider for the purpose of recording cashback, in order to carry out the necessary business processes.
Rabattcorner will not share your personal data with third parties for market research purposes.
Transfers to third countries: To the extent that personal data is transferred to countries outside Switzerland or the EEA in connection with integrated third-party services (e.g., Google, Meta/Facebook, Intercom, Mailchimp, Crazy Egg, TrustSpot), this is done on the basis of the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (for certified US providers), the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), and—if necessary—additional safeguards.

To enhance your experience on Rabattcorner.ch and enable the use of certain features, Rabattcorner uses “cookies”.
Once your browser session ends, most of the cookies used by Rabattcorner are deleted from your hard drive (“session cookies”). However, so-called “persistent cookies” (e.g., to identify you as a member and enable you to log in) remain on your computer and allow Rabattcorner to recognize you, for example, the next time you visit.
You can prevent cookies from being stored on your computer by adjusting your browser settings, or you can configure specific settings here.
Rabattcorner uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4), a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”). GA4 uses “cookies” and other identifiers (e.g., event-based parameters) to analyze your use of the website. The information generated in this process is generally transmitted to Google’s servers and stored there. By default, GA4 truncates IP addresses before storage or does not log them permanently, so that no personal reference to an individual is possible.
Google uses this information to analyze website usage, compile reports on website activity, and provide other services related to website usage. If necessary, data may be transferred to third parties, provided that this is required by law or that third parties process this data on Google’s behalf. Within the scope of GA4, IP and event data are pseudonymized and not linked to other Google data.
The legal basis for the processing is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR / Art. 31(1) revDSG), which you provide via our cookie consent banner. You may withdraw your consent at any time with future effect by changing the settings in your browser or in our consent banner. Transfers to third countries are made on the basis of the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the EU Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
Rabattcorner uses Google AdWords, an analytics service provided by Google, and conversion tracking as part of Google AdWords. When you click on an ad served by Google, Google AdWords places a cookie on your computer’s hard drive for conversion tracking purposes (known as a “conversion cookie”). These cookies expire after 30 days and are not used to identify you personally. If you visit certain pages on our website, Google and we can recognize that you clicked on the ad and were redirected to that page. The information obtained through conversion cookies is used to generate statistics for AdWords customers who use conversion tracking. Through these statistics, Rabattcorner learns the total number of users who clicked on the ad served by Google and visited a page tagged with a conversion tracking tag. In addition to conversion tracking, Rabattcorner also uses the functions
Using Google’s remarketing feature, Rabattcorner reaches users who have already visited Rabattcorner.ch. This allows Rabattcorner to show ads to audiences who are already interested in its products or services. AdWords also determines the common interests and characteristics of Rabattcorner users based on their behavior on websites within Google’s advertising network (“Display Network”) over the past 30 days, as well as through the contextual search engine. Based on this information, AdWords then identifies new potential customers for marketing purposes whose interests and characteristics resemble those of Rabattcorner website users. Target group-specific remarketing is carried out through the combined use of cookies, such as Google Analytics cookies and Google DoubleClick cookies.
Rabattcorner uses Google Display & Video 360 (DV360), a programmatic advertising platform part of the Google Marketing Platform. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”); in addition, Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, may process data as the parent company. DV360 enables us to manage and measure the success of digital display, video, and audio advertising campaigns via the Google Display Network as well as through affiliated ad exchanges and publishers.
When using DV360, the following information in particular is processed—always subject to your explicit consent via our cookie banner:
We and Google use the data collected in this way to (i) display ads that are relevant to you, (ii) target advertising campaigns to specific audiences (e.g., by interests or region), (iii) prevent the same ad from being displayed too frequently (frequency capping), (iv) measure advertising success, and (v) create remarketing audiences to specifically target users who have already visited Rabattcorner. Rabattcorner does not link this data to real names or other directly identifying information.
The legal basis for the use of DV360, the placement of associated cookies, and the collection of information from your device is your consent pursuant to Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR and Article 31(1) of the revDSG, which you may revoke at any time via our cookie banner or the cookie settings for future use.
Transfers to third countries: DV360 data is also processed in the United States and other third countries. Transfers to the United States are made on the basis of the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Google LLC is certified accordingly) and, in addition, on the basis of the Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR), including additional safeguards. Please note that the level of data protection in the U.S. is not equivalent to that under EU/Swiss law, and that government authorities may gain access to the data under certain circumstances.
You can opt out of this processing at any time by (i) refusing or withdrawing your consent in the cookie banner, (ii) disabling personalized ads in your Google Account settings at myadcenter.google.com, (iii) disabling the DoubleClick advertising cookie at adssettings.google.com, or (iv) resetting the advertising ID (“Google Advertising ID”) on mobile devices or disabling personalized ads in your device settings. For more information, please see the Google Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy and the overview of Google Marketing Platform products at marketingplatform.google.com.

Our website uses the “Meta Pixel” (formerly Facebook Pixel) provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd., Merrion Road, Dublin 4, Ireland. This allows Meta to target visitors to our website with ads (Meta Ads). In addition, we use “Custom Audiences.” This involves generating a non-reversible checksum (hash value) from profile data and transmitting it to Meta. For more information on data protection at Meta and available settings, visit facebook.com/privacy/explanation. Transfer to third countries: EU-US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses.
The Rabattcorner website may contain plug-ins from the external social network Facebook. These are operated exclusively by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (Facebook). The plug-ins are identified on the Rabattcorner website by the Facebook logo or the “Like” button. When you visit the Rabattcorner.ch website, which contains such a plug-in, your browser establishes a direct connection to Facebook’s servers, whereby the content of the plug-in is transmitted to your browser and integrated into the displayed website. This transmits the information that you have visited Rabattcorner to Facebook. If you are logged into your personal Facebook account while visiting Rabattcorner, Facebook can associate your visit to the website with that account. Through interaction with plugins, e.g., by clicking the “Like” button or leaving a comment, this information is transmitted directly to Facebook and stored there. Additionally, Rabattcorner uses the Facebook Analytics service. The data collected here is used to analyze target audience groups. If you wish to prevent such data transmission, you must log out of your Facebook account before visiting Rabattcorner. You can find information regarding the purpose and scope of data collection by Facebook, as well as the further processing and use of your data there, along with your rights in this regard and settings options for protecting your privacy, in Facebook’s privacy policy.
Regarding the use of the Rabattcorner Facebook fan page, we would like to inform you that it is unclear exactly what data Facebook stores and how the company uses this data. It is possible that, in addition to storing data you enter directly, Facebook also tracks your activities on Facebook. Furthermore, Facebook obtains information about the key details of the computer system you use to log into the network—including your IP address, processor type, and browser version along with plug-ins—as well as every visit to websites where a “Like” button is installed (see above). The IP address is also transmitted in this process.
If you are logged into your personal Facebook account while visiting the fan page, Facebook can associate the visit with that account. If you wish to prevent such data transmission, you must log out of your Facebook account before visiting the Rabattcorner fan page. For information on the purpose and scope of data collection by Facebook, as well as the further processing and use of your data there, and your rights and settings options regarding the protection of your privacy, please refer to Facebook’s privacy policy.

To implement this, we use technology from the provider OneSignal, 201 San Antonio Circle Suite #140, Mountain View, CA, USA. You can find the provider’s privacy policy here: https://onesignal.com/privacy_policy. In order to send you push notifications, it is necessary for non-personal data, such as a message, to be transmitted to the OneSignal server. We use the so-called “LinkedIn Pixel” on this website, provided by LinkedIn Corporation, 2029 Stierlin Court, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. These pixels allow us to track visitor traffic generated by advertisements on LinkedIn. We measure the number of users who have interacted with our ads on LinkedIn. With the help of the LinkedIn Pixel, LinkedIn is able to identify visitors to our website as a target audience for displaying ads (LinkedIn Ads).
For more information, please see LinkedIn’s Privacy Policy at: https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy
We use the so-called “TikTok Pixel” from TikTok (for the EU: TikTok Information Technologies UK Limited, Aviation House, 125 Kingsway Holborn, London, WC2B 6NH) on this website. This is a piece of code that we have implemented on our site. With your express consent, this code establishes a connection to TikTok’s servers when you visit our website to track your behavior on our site. For example, if you purchase a product on our website, the TikTok pixel is triggered and stores your actions on our website in one or more cookies. You may revoke your consent at any time with future effect. There are no additional costs for this beyond standard rates.
Personal data such as your IP address and email address, as well as other information such as device ID, device type, and operating system, may also be transmitted to TikTok. TikTok uses email or other login or device information to identify users of our website and associate their actions with a TikTok user account.
TikTok uses this data to display targeted and personalized advertising to its users and to create interest-based user profiles. The collected data is anonymous to us and cannot be viewed by us; it is only usable by us for the purpose of measuring the effectiveness of ad placements.
In principle, your data is processed within the EU or the EEA. A corresponding data protection agreement has been concluded with TikTok for this purpose. If personal data is transferred to countries outside the EU or the EEA, this is done in accordance with the Commission’s model contracts for the transfer of personal data to third countries (i.e., standard contractual clauses).

We use the Microsoft Advertising service provided by Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited (Ireland/EU) on this website. Microsoft Advertising is an online marketing service that uses the Universal Event Tracking (UET) tool to help us deliver targeted ads via the Microsoft Bing search engine. Microsoft Advertising uses cookies for this purpose. In doing so, personal data is processed in the form of online identifiers (including cookie identifiers), IP addresses, device identifiers, and information about device and browser settings.
Microsoft Advertising collects data via UET that allows us to track target audiences using remarketing lists. To do this, a cookie is stored on the user’s device when they visit our website. This enables Microsoft Advertising to recognize that our website has been visited and to display an advertisement when the user later uses Microsoft Bing or Yahoo. The information is also used to generate conversion statistics, i.e., to track how many users arrived at our website after clicking on an ad. This tells us the total number of users who clicked on our ad and were redirected to our website. However, we do not receive any information that can be used to personally identify users.
You can also disable personalized ads on Microsoft at: https://about.ads.microsoft.com/de-de/ressourcen/richtlinien/personalisierte-anzeigen.
When using Microsoft services, the transfer of data to Microsoft Corp. in the United States cannot be ruled out. Please refer to the information in the section “Data Transfer to Third Countries.” For more information on data protection at Microsoft, please see Microsoft’s Privacy Statement at https://privacy.microsoft.com/de-de/privacystatement.
Rabattcorner offers an optional browser add-on for Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari. The add-on is not required to use rabattcorner.ch and is installed separately and voluntarily. It offers two features:
a) Cashback Reminder
The add-on contains a saved list of URLs for our partner stores. When you visit a partner store, a notification appears in your browser indicating that cashback is available. If you click on “Activate Cashback,” you will be redirected to rabattcorner.ch via a technical landing page and then to the store’s website via an affiliate link from the respective partner (see the “Affiliate Service Providers” section). A tracking cookie is set in your browser during this process. The purchase is only assigned to your Rabattcorner account if you are logged in to the add-on.
b) Automatic price comparison
When you visit a product page on select Swiss online stores, the add-on transmits the following information to our servers (hosted by Cyon GmbH, Basel, Switzerland):
This data is processed without any personal references: it is not linked to your Rabattcorner account, your IP address, or any other identifiers that could be used to identify you. Based on this data, we check in real time whether the same product is available at a lower price at one of our partner stores through coupons or cashback, and display the result in your browser. The data is also analyzed in aggregated and anonymized form to improve our service (e.g., to optimize product recognition and match quality). This data is not shared with third parties.
Add-on Permissions
For the add-on to work, it needs access to the websites of supported stores in order to retrieve product information and display the cashback notification. The add-on is inactive on other websites.
Legal Basis
Data processing is based on your consent, which you provide by installing and activating the add-on (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR / Art. 31(1) revDSG), as well as on our legitimate interest in improving our services (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Uninstallation and Revocation
You can uninstall the add-on at any time via your browser’s extension manager. This will immediately stop all data processing by the add-on.
In order to provide our services, we need to be able to track whether users who are interested in the offers available on our site make purchases at the affiliated online stores. To do this, we use so-called “affiliate links” from third-party companies. These links set a cookie containing various values. These include the referring website (referrer), the time, the Rabattcorner ID, and the ID of the offer clicked.
The online identifiers we use for users are pseudonymous values. The identifiers themselves do not contain any personal data such as names or email addresses. They help us determine whether the same user who clicked on an affiliate link took advantage of the offer and subsequently entered into a contract with the provider. However, the online identifier is personal insofar as the partner company and we have access to the online identifier along with other user data (order number, time of order, order amount). Only in this way can the partner company inform us whether the user took advantage of the offer and we can pay out the cashback. We rely on the services of the following partner companies:
In addition to the affiliate networks listed above, billing for certain partner stores is handled via a direct interface (without an intermediary network). Rabattcorner also transmits the pseudonymous Rabattcorner ID to the store in order to identify purchases eligible for cashback. This applies in particular to the following direct partners:
The list of affiliate networks and direct partners is updated whenever a partnership is established or terminated. The current version of this Privacy Policy always applies.
Cyon processes (personal) data on your behalf that we store, as we use Cyon’s hosting services. This processing consists of the storage, provision, transmission, and deletion of data in accordance with the contractual agreements between Rabattcorner and Cyon

Under “Storage and Retention of Log Data,” Cyon describes in detail what data is involved. This also includes data entered by the user as well as usage data collected by Rabattcorner that is personally identifiable.
To the extent that Cyon processes personal data in this context, it does so in accordance with its contractual obligations as a data processor. Rabattcorner remains solely responsible for the lawfulness of the processing of personal data and other data stored by Cyon, including the permissibility of contract and sub-contract processing.
Cyon is a service provided by Cyon GmbH, Brunngässlein 12, 4052 Basel, Switzerland. You can find more information about Cyon’s privacy policy here.
