The principle behind a cashback site is not entirely new. We first came across it in the UK back in 2012 and knew immediately that we had to bring the concept to Switzerland. At that time, no one here had implemented it consistently, and since we like a challenge, we were only too happy to take it on!
At the beginning, it was anything but easy, as no one in Switzerland was familiar with the cashback principle. So we not only had to raise awareness of Rabattcorner, but also promote the model. In addition, we wanted to pass on a large portion of our commissions to our users right from the start in order to offer the best possible cashback rates. The whole project was much more difficult than expected, and it took us a few years to build up an attractive number of partner shops and users.
Today, we continue to reinvest all profits into improving the platform and marketing. Our goal is to make cashback even more widespread in Switzerland and to offer a lucrative deal for as many relevant online shops as possible in the future. The best way to achieve this goal is for our community to continue growing as quickly as possible. We currently have over 131,000 users, to whom we have already paid out over 4.6 million Swiss francs.
We want to offer a platform where users and shops can come together. Cashback is a win-win-win situation for everyone involved. Users shop at lower prices in our partner stores, the stores generate orders and new customers, and for us as a cashback platform, it is of course an interesting business model. For this to work, we have to offer the best possible deals. That’s why we are constantly negotiating commission rates and looking for additional vouchers and special offers that can be combined with cashback.
We are constantly focused on improving our service and developing practical tools to ensure that our users don’t miss out on any cashback. For example, we have developed a browser extension that allows users to activate cashback with a single click on the shop’s website. We have also developed a mobile app that is available on iOS and Android, so users can benefit from cashback even when they are on the go.
