PRIVACY POLICY OF RABATTCORNER AG

Introduction

The collection, processing, and use of your personal data are always carried out in accordance with applicable data protection regulations. Without your consent, this data will never be used for any purpose other than those specified in this Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy can be accessed at any time at rabattcorner.ch/datenschutz. The following explains what data Rabattcorner collects, processes, and uses, as well as when and for what purpose.

The data controller within the meaning of data protection regulations is Rabattcorner AG, Lessingstrasse 11, 8002 Zurich, Switzerland. The legal basis for data processing is Art. 31(1) of the revDSG or—where applicable—Art. 6(1)(a) (consent), (b) (performance of a contract), and (f) (legitimate interest) of the GDPR.

1. Collection, Processing, and Use of Personal Data

You can visit Rabattcorner without providing any personal information. Rabattcorner stores non-personally identifiable data. For example, the page from which you visit Rabattcorner, the name of your Internet service provider, or the names of the files you requested and the date they were accessed. This data is analyzed solely to improve the offerings on Rabattcorner and does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about your identity.

Rabattcorner collects personal data only if you voluntarily provide it to Rabattcorner. This occurs, for example, when you create a user account, participate in the cashback program, or sign up for the newsletter. Rabattcorner uses and stores the data you provide solely for the purpose for which you expressly and voluntarily provided it to Rabattcorner, in particular to fulfill and process your participation in the cashback program or to send you the newsletter.

When you register on Rabattcorner, you are explicitly asked to confirm that you have read and understood the Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy. By doing so, you consent to the use of your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

2. Disclosure of Personal Data

When participating in the cashback program, your personal data will be used without your separate consent only to the extent necessary for Rabattcorner to provide or carry out the service.

For the purpose of paying out cashback, your information will only be shared with the bank or PayPal designated by Rabattcorner to transfer the amount.

Rabattcorner will not disclose personal data without your express consent, unless Rabattcorner is legally required to disclose such data to the authorities or unless Rabattcorner engages third parties who are bound by professional confidentiality obligations to enforce its claims.

If you submit requests for retroactive commission payments to Rabattcorner, Rabattcorner will, on a case-by-case basis, share your data with the respective affiliate marketing agency and its e-commerce provider for the purpose of recording cashback, in order to carry out the relevant business processes.

Rabattcorner will not share your personal data with third parties for market research purposes.

Transfers to Third Countries: To the extent that personal data is transferred to countries outside Switzerland or the EEA in connection with integrated third-party services (e.g., Google, Meta/Facebook, Intercom, Mailchimp, Crazy Egg, TrustSpot), this is done on the basis of the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (for certified U.S. providers), the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), and—if necessary—additional safeguards.

3. Newsletter

You can sign up to receive the Rabattcorner newsletter. To do so, you must provide Rabattcorner with your email address. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. Please unsubscribe via your user account under “My Profile” in the “Notifications” section, or send an email to the following address: support@rabattcorner.ch. Alternatively, you can click the unsubscribe link in any newsletter you receive.

4. Use of Cookies

To enhance your experience on Rabattcorner.ch and enable the use of certain features, Rabattcorner uses “cookies.

Once your browser session ends, most of the cookies used by Rabattcorner are deleted from your hard drive (“session cookies”). So-called “persistent cookies” (e.g., to identify you as a member and enable you to log in), on the other hand, remain on your computer and allow Rabattcorner to recognize you, for example, on your next visit.

You have the option to prevent cookies from being stored on your computer by adjusting your browser settings accordingly, or to configure specific settings here.

5. Google Analytics 4

Rabattcorner uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4), a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”). GA4 uses “cookies” and other identifiers (e.g., event-based parameters) to analyze your use of the website. The information generated in this process is generally transmitted to Google’s servers and stored there. By default, GA4 truncates IP addresses before storage or does not log them permanently, so that no personal identification of an individual is possible.

Google uses this information to analyze website usage, compile reports on website activity, and provide other services related to website usage. If necessary, data may be transferred to third parties, provided that this is required by law or that third parties process this data on Google’s behalf. Within the framework of GA4, IP and event data are pseudonymized and are not linked to other Google data.

The legal basis for the processing is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR / Art. 31(1) revDSG), which you provide via our cookie consent banner. You can withdraw your consent at any time with future effect by changing the settings in your browser or in our consent banner. Data transfers to third countries are carried out on the basis of the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

6. Google Ads (formerly AdWords)

Rabattcorner uses Google AdWords, an analytics service provided by Google, and conversion tracking as part of Google AdWords. When you click on an ad placed by Google, Google AdWords stores a cookie for conversion tracking on your computer’s hard drive (known as a “conversion cookie”). These cookies expire after 30 days and are not used to identify you personally. If you visit certain pages on our website, Google and we can recognize that you clicked on the ad and were redirected to that page. The information collected via the conversion cookies is used to generate statistics for AdWords customers who use conversion tracking. Through these statistics, Rabattcorner learns the total number of users who clicked on the ad served by Google and visited a page tagged with a conversion tracking tag. In addition to conversion tracking, Rabattcorner also uses the following features

  • Remarketing
  • Target groups with shared interests
  • Custom Audiences with Shared Interests
  • Target Audiences Ready to Buy
  • Similar Target Audiences
  • Demographic and Geographic Focus

Using Google’s remarketing feature, Rabattcorner reaches users who have already visited Rabattcorner.ch. This allows Rabattcorner to display ads to target audiences who are already interested in its products or services. AdWords also uses user behavior on websites within Google’s advertising network (“Display Network”) over the past 30 days, as well as contextual search data, to identify the common interests and characteristics shared by Rabattcorner users. Based on this information, AdWords then identifies new potential customers for marketing purposes whose interests and characteristics resemble those of Rabattcorner website users. This target-group-specific remarketing is carried out through the combined use of cookies, such as Google Analytics cookies and Google DoubleClick cookies.

6a. Google Display & Video 360 (DV360)

Rabattcorner uses Google Display & Video 360 (DV360), a programmatic advertising platform from the Google Marketing Platform. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”); in addition, Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, may process data as the parent company. DV360 enables us to manage and measure the performance of digital display, video, and audio advertising campaigns through the Google Display Network as well as through affiliated ad exchanges and publishers.

When using DV360—subject to your express consent via our cookie banner—the following information, in particular, is processed:

  • Cookies and similar technologies (e.g., pixels, DoubleClick/“_gcl_au” cookies) used to recognize your device
  • Pseudonymous advertising or user IDs (e.g., Floodlight ID, Google Advertising ID on mobile devices)
  • Truncated IP address, approximate location (country/region), device and browser information, operating system, language
  • Information about interactions with our ads (impressions, clicks, conversions, time spent on the site, product categories viewed)
  • Referrer URL and pages visited on rabattcorner.ch

We and Google use the data collected in this way to (i) display ads that are relevant to you, (ii) target advertising campaigns to specific audiences (e.g., by interests or region), (iii) prevent the same ad from being displayed too frequently (frequency capping), (iv) measure the success of our advertising, and (v) create remarketing audiences to specifically target users who have already visited Rabattcorner. Rabattcorner does not link this data to real names or other directly identifying information.

The legal basis for the use of DV360, the placement of the associated cookies, and the collection of information from your device is your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR or Art. 31(1) of the revDSG, which you may revoke at any time via our cookie banner or the cookie settings for future use.

Transfers to Third Countries: DV360 data is also processed in the United States and other third countries. Transfers to the United States are based on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Google LLC is certified accordingly) and, in addition, on the Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR), including supplementary safeguards. Please note that the United States does not have a level of data protection equivalent to that of EU or Swiss law, and that government authorities may gain access to the data under certain circumstances.

You can opt out of this processing at any time by (i) refusing or withdrawing your consent in the cookie banner, (ii) disabling personalized ads in your Google Account settings at myadcenter.google.com, (iii) disabling the DoubleClick advertising cookie at adssettings.google.com, or (iv) resetting the advertising ID (“Google Advertising ID”) on mobile devices or disabling personalized ads in your device settings. For more information, see the Google Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy and the overview of Google Marketing Platform products at marketingplatform.google.com.

We use Intercom for additional data analysis, such as querying the registration date or user activity in the context of customer support. Furthermore, Intercom can be used as a communication channel for emails or in-app messages. To help us better understand our user base, Intercom collects publicly available information, such as a user’s company, job title, website, social media handle, and physical addresses. You can find more information about Intercom’s privacy policy here.

Further information on MailChimp’s privacy policy can be found here.

9. Twilio

Twilio provides an additional layer of security for changing bank account information by requiring two forms of authentication. Twilio is a service provided by Twilio Inc. (USA), 101 Spear Street, San Francisco, California, 94105, and Twilio Ireland Limited, 25-28 North Wall Quay (Ireland). For more information on Twilio’s privacy policy, click here.

10. Crazy Egg

11. Facebook Connect

We offer you the option to sign up for our service using Facebook Connect. To sign up, you’ll be redirected to Facebook, where you can log in with your Facebook credentials. This links your Facebook profile to our service. Through this link, we automatically receive various profile details from Facebook Inc. For more information about Facebook Connect and privacy settings, please refer to Facebook Inc.’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service at facebook.com/policy.php

12. Meta-Pixel, Custom Audiences, and Remarketing

Our website uses the so-called “Meta Pixel” (formerly Facebook Pixel) from Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd., Merrion Road, Dublin 4, Ireland. This allows Meta to target visitors to our website with ads (Meta Ads). In addition, we use “Custom Audiences.” This involves generating a non-reversible checksum (hash value) from profile data and transmitting it to Meta. For more information on Meta’s privacy practices and settings options, visit facebook.com/privacy/explanation. Transfers to third countries: EU-US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses.

13. Additional Facebook Plug-ins

The Rabattcorner website may contain programs (plug-ins) from the external social network Facebook. These are operated exclusively by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (Facebook). The plug-ins are identified on the Rabattcorner website by the Facebook logo or the “Like” button. When you visit the Rabattcorner.ch website, which contains such a plug-in, your browser establishes a direct connection to Facebook’s servers, which in turn transmits the plug-in’s content to your browser, where it is integrated into the displayed website. This transmits the information that you have visited Rabattcorner to Facebook. If you are logged into your personal Facebook account while visiting Rabattcorner, Facebook can associate your visit to the website with that account. When you interact with plugins—for example, by clicking the “Like” button or leaving a comment—the corresponding information is transmitted directly to Facebook and stored there. In addition, Rabattcorner uses the Facebook Analytics service. The data collected here is used to analyze target audience segments. If you wish to prevent such data transmission, you must log out of your Facebook account before visiting Rabattcorner. You can find information on the purpose and scope of data collection by Facebook, as well as the further processing and use of your data there, along with your rights in this regard and the settings available to protect your privacy, in Facebook’s Privacy Policy.

14. Facebook Fan Page

With regard to the use of the Rabattcorner Facebook fan page, we would like to inform you that it is unclear exactly what data Facebook stores and how the company uses this data. It is possible that, in addition to storing data you enter directly, Facebook also tracks your activities on Facebook. Furthermore, Facebook obtains information about key details of the computer system you use to log in to the network—including your IP address, processor type, and browser version—including plug-ins—as well as every visit to websites where a “Like” button is installed (see above). The IP address is also transmitted in this process.
If you are logged into your personal Facebook account while visiting the fan page, Facebook can associate the visit with that account. If you wish to prevent such data transmission, you must log out of your Facebook account before visiting the Rabattcorner fan page. For information on the purpose and scope of data collection by Facebook, as well as the further processing and use of your data there, and your related rights and privacy settings, please refer to Facebook’s privacy policy.

15. TrustSpot (Review)

To collect reviews for our service, we share your email address with TrustSpot, Inc., 13506 Summerport Village Parkway, Suite 1006, Windermere, Florida 34786, so that they can send you an invitation to leave a review via email.

16. YouTube

Our website embeds videos from YouTube. YouTube is operated by YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA, a subsidiary of Google.

When embedding YouTube content, your browser communicates with a YouTube server, which may log the corresponding request. The transfer of personal data to the United States is based on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Google is certified under this framework) or supplementary standard contractual clauses.

You can find more information on this here.

17. Google Fonts

To display various texts on this website as quickly as possible, in a data-efficient manner, and with improved visual quality, we use fonts from Google Fonts. Google Fonts is provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”).

Google’s Privacy Policy explains how Google uses and processes data.

You can find more information about Google Fonts here.

18. OneSignal

When you visit our website or use our mobile app, we’ll ask you via an on-screen message if we may send you updates via push notifications from your browser or the app. Your consent applies to the browser or device on which you’re logged in. If you consent, you will receive push notifications from our website at regular intervals. We use technology provided by OneSignal, 201 San Antonio Circle Suite #140, Mountain View, CA, USA, to implement this feature. You can find the provider’s privacy policy here: https://onesignal.com/privacy_policy. In order to send you push notifications, it is necessary to transmit non-personal data—such as a message—to OneSignal’s server. This service stores the subscription status, the first and last activity on our site, the device, the platform (browser), the number of sessions, the IP address, and the country of origin.

19. LinkedIn

On this website, we use the so-called “LinkedIn Pixel” provided by LinkedIn Corporation, 2029 Stierlin Court, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. These pixels allow us to track visitor traffic generated by advertisements on LinkedIn. We measure the number of users who have interacted with our ads on LinkedIn. With the help of the LinkedIn Pixel, LinkedIn is able, among other things, to identify visitors to our website as a target audience for displaying ads (LinkedIn Ads).

For more information on this topic, please see LinkedIn’s Privacy Policy at: https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy

20. TikTok

On this website, we use the so-called “TikTok Pixel” provided by TikTok (for the EU: TikTok Information Technologies UK Limited, Aviation House, 125 Kingsway Holborn, London, WC2B 6NH). This is a piece of code that we have implemented on our site. With your express consent, this code establishes a connection to TikTok’s servers when you visit our website in order to track your behavior on our website. For example, if you purchase a product on our website, the TikTok pixel is triggered and stores your actions on our website in one or more cookies. You have the option to revoke your consent at any time with future effect. There are no additional costs for this beyond the standard rates.

Personal data such as your IP address and email address, as well as other information such as device ID, device type, and operating system, may also be transmitted to TikTok. TikTok uses email or other login or device information to identify users of our website and associate their actions with a TikTok user account.
TikTok uses this data to display targeted and personalized ads to its users and to create interest-based user profiles. The data collected is anonymous to us and cannot be viewed by us; it is only usable by us for the purpose of measuring the effectiveness of ad campaigns.
In general, your data is processed within the EU or the EEA. A corresponding data protection agreement has been concluded with TikTok for this purpose. If personal data is transferred to countries outside the EU or the EEA, this is done in accordance with the Commission’s model contracts for the transfer of personal data to third countries (i.e., standard contractual clauses).
You can find TikTok’s Privacy Policy here: https://www.tiktok.com/legal/new-privacy-policy?lang=de-DE

21. Microsoft Advertising

We use the Microsoft Advertising service provided by Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited (Ireland/EU) on this website. Microsoft Advertising is an online marketing service that uses the Universal Event Tracking (UET) tool to help us deliver targeted ads through the Microsoft Bing search engine. Microsoft Advertising uses cookies for this purpose. In doing so, it processes personal data in the form of online identifiers (including cookie identifiers), IP addresses, device identifiers, and information about device and browser settings.

Microsoft Advertising collects data via UET that allows us to track target audiences using remarketing lists. To do this, a cookie is stored on the user’s device when they visit our website. This enables Microsoft Advertising to recognize that our website has been visited and to display an ad when the user later uses Microsoft Bing or Yahoo. The information is also used to generate conversion statistics—that is, to track how many users arrived at our website after clicking on an ad. This allows us to determine the total number of users who clicked on our ad and were redirected to our website. However, we do not receive any information that can be used to personally identify users.

You can also disable personalized ads on Microsoft at: https://about.ads.microsoft.com/de-de/ressourcen/richtlinien/personalisierte-anzeigen.

With Microsoft services, the transfer of data to Microsoft Corp. in the United States cannot be ruled out. Please refer to the information in the section “Data Transfers to Third Countries.” For more information on data protection at Microsoft, please see Microsoft’s Privacy Statement at https://privacy.microsoft.com/de-de/privacystatement.

22. Rabattcorner Browser Add-on (Cashback Reminder & Price Comparison)

Rabattcorner offers an optional browser add-on for Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari. The add-on is not required to use rabattcorner.ch and is installed separately and voluntarily. It offers two features:

a) Cashback Reminder

The add-on contains a saved list of URLs for our partner stores. When you visit a partner store, a notification appears in your browser indicating that cashback is available. If you click on “Activate Cashback,” you’ll be redirected to rabattcorner.ch via a technical landing page and then to the store’s website via an affiliate link from the respective partner (see the “Affiliate Service Providers” section). A tracking cookie will be set in your browser during this process. The purchase will only be assigned to your Rabattcorner account if you are logged in to the add-on.

b) Automatic price comparison

When you visit a product page on select Swiss online stores, the add-on transmits the following information to our servers (hosted by Cyon GmbH, Basel, Switzerland):

  • Product Information
  • the listed selling price

This data is processed anonymously: It is not linked to your Rabattcorner account, your IP address, or any other identifiers that could be used to identify you. Based on this data, we check in real time whether the same product is available at a lower price at one of our partner stores through coupons or cashback, and display the result in your browser. The data is also analyzed in aggregated and anonymized form to improve our service (e.g., to optimize product recognition and match quality). This data is not shared with third parties.

Add-on Permissions

For the add-on to work, it needs access to the websites of the supported stores in order to retrieve product information and display the cashback notification. The add-on is inactive on other websites.

Legal Basis

Data processing is based on your consent, which you provide by installing and activating the add-on (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR / Art. 31(1) revDSG) and our legitimate interest in improving our services (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Uninstallation and Revocation

You can uninstall the add-on at any time through your browser’s extension manager. This will immediately stop all data processing by the add-on.

23. Affiliate Service Providers

In order to provide our service, we need to be able to track whether users who are interested in the offers available on our site make purchases at the affiliated online stores. To do this, we use so-called “affiliate links” from third-party companies. These links set a cookie containing various values. These include the referring website (referrer), the time, the Rabattcorner ID, and the ID of the offer that was clicked.

The online user identifiers we use are pseudonymous values. The identifiers themselves do not contain any personal data such as names or email addresses. They help us determine whether the same user who clicked on an affiliate link took advantage of the offer and subsequently entered into a contract with the provider. However, the online identifier is personal insofar as both the partner company and we have access to the online identifier along with other user data (order number, time of order, order amount). This is the only way the partner company can inform us whether that user took advantage of the offer and we can pay out the cashback. We rely on the services of the following partner companies:

  • Awin AG, Eichhornstrasse 3, 10785 Berlin, Germany
  • Tradedoubler GmbH, Herzog-Wilhelm-Strasse 26, 80331 Munich, Germany
  • Webgains c/o ad pepper media GmbH, Frankenstrasse 150C, 90461 Nuremberg, Germany
  • Connects AG, Blegistrasse 9, 6340 Baar, Switzerland
  • Partnerize Limited, 1st floor, 26-27 Great Sutton Street, Clerkenwell, London EC1V 0DS, United Kingdom
  • Everflow, Herengracht 449A, 1017 BR Amsterdam, Netherlands
  • CJ Affiliate (Commission Junction), a Publicis Groupe company – European headquarters: 4 Roundwood Avenue, Stockley Park, Uxbridge UB11 1AF, United Kingdom (previously listed in our Privacy Policy as “Conversant Europe Limited”)
  • Impact Tech, Inc. (impact.com), 223 E. De La Guerra Street, Santa Barbara, CA 93101, USA (formerly “Impact Radius Limited”)
  • Effiliation SAS (Kwanko Group), 4 place des Vosges, 92400 Courbevoie, France (inadvertently referred to as “Effinity SAS” in the previous privacy policy)
  • firstlead GmbH / Adcell, Rosenfelder Strasse 15–16, 10315 Berlin, Germany
  • Adtraction Group AB, Regeringsgatan 29, 111 53 Stockholm, Sweden
  • Kwanko SA, 4 Place des Vosges, 92400 Courbevoie, France
  • Rakuten Marketing Europe Ltd., 100 Bishopsgate, London EC2N 4AG, United Kingdom

In addition to the affiliate networks listed above, billing for certain partner stores is handled via a direct interface (without an intermediary network). In these cases, Rabattcorner also transmits the pseudonymous Rabattcorner ID to the store to identify purchases eligible for cashback. This applies in particular to the following direct partners:

  • XXXLutz KG, Römerstrasse 39, 4600 Wels, Austria (Swiss online store: xxxlutz.ch)
  • mömax GmbH (XXXLutz Group), Römerstrasse 39, 4600 Wels, Austria (Swiss online store: moemax.ch)

The list of affiliate networks and direct partners is updated whenever a partnership is established or terminated. The current version of this Privacy Policy always takes precedence.

24. Cyon

Cyon processes (personal) data on your behalf that we store, as we use Cyon’s hosting services. This processing consists of the storage, provision, transmission, and deletion of data in accordance with the contractual agreements between Rabattcorner and Cyon
. In the provision of hosting services (including “Sitebuilder”), Cyon processes the (personal) data that, at our discretion, is stored on the infrastructure used by Cyon to provide its services. This includes, in particular, data that is typically collected when accessing, running, or using websites and applications (log data, e.g., the IP address and operating system of the user’s device, as well as the date and time of use). Under “Storage and Retention of Log Data, Cyon describes in detail what data is involved. This also includes data entered by the user as well as personally identifiable usage data collected by Rabattcorner.
To the extent that Cyon processes personal data in this context, it does so in accordance with its contractual obligations as a data processor. Rabattcorner remains solely responsible for the lawfulness of the processing of personal data and other data stored by Cyon, including the permissibility of commissioned and sub-commissioned processing.

Cyon is a service provided by Cyon GmbH, Brunngässlein 12, 4052 Basel, Switzerland. You can find more information about Cyon’s privacy policy here.

25. Amazon Web Services (AWS)

To back up our data, Rabattcorner uses the services of Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS processes (personal) data stored by us on our behalf by regularly creating and storing backup copies of our systems and databases. This processing consists of the storage, retention, and deletion of data in accordance with the contractual agreements between Rabattcorner and AWS.

The backup copies may include all data that we process in order to provide our services, in particular account data, transaction and usage data, and log data (e.g., IP addresses). We maintain two separate backup copies: one at a data center in the United States and one at a data center in Switzerland.

To the extent that AWS processes personal data in this context, it does so exclusively in accordance with instructions and in compliance with its contractual obligations as a data processor (Data Processing Addendum). Rabattcorner remains solely responsible for the lawfulness of the processing of the stored personal data, including the permissibility of processing and sub-processing. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the reliability, recoverability, and security of our systems (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR / Art. 31(1) revDSG).

The contractual partner for the provision of AWS services in Europe is Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL, 38 Avenue John F. Kennedy, L-1855 Luxembourg (with a branch office in Zurich). The backup copy stored in the U.S. is processed on the infrastructure of Amazon Web Services, Inc., 410 Terry Avenue North, Seattle, WA 98109-5210, U.S.

Transfers to Third Countries: Storing a backup copy in the United States constitutes a transfer of personal data to a country outside Switzerland or the EEA. This transfer is based on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Amazon Web Services, Inc. is certified accordingly) and, in addition, on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR), including supplementary safeguards. Please note that the United States does not have a level of data protection equivalent to that provided by Swiss or European law, and that government authorities may gain access to the data under certain circumstances.

For more information on data protection at AWS, click here or visit aws.amazon.com/compliance/eu-us-data-privacy-framework.

26. Data Security

Rabattcorner protects its website and other systems through technical and organizational measures against the loss, destruction, unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure of your data by unauthorized persons. However, despite regular checks, it is not possible to provide complete protection against all risks.

27. Further Development of Business Segments

As Rabattcorner AG continues to expand its business areas, it may acquire or sell companies or parts of companies. In such transactions, customer information—including personal data—is generally one of the assets being transferred. By submitting your personal data, you consent to the transfer of your data in connection with such transactions.

28. Updating / Deleting Your Personal Data / Right of Withdrawal

You can review, change, or delete the personal data you have provided at any time by logging into your account and making the changes yourself, or by sending an email to Rabattcorner at support@rabattcorner.ch. In addition, you can customize your notifications under “My Profile” according to your preferences. You also have the right to revoke any consent you have previously given at any time, effective for the future. Please note that in such cases, Rabattcorner is entitled to an extraordinary right of termination in accordance with Section 6(5) of the Terms and Conditions.
Stored personal data will be deleted if you revoke your consent to its storage or if knowledge of this data is no longer necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was stored, in particular if participation in the cashback program is terminated or if the storage of your data is otherwise prohibited by law.

29. Right of Access, Rectification, Erasure, Restriction, and Objection

Rabattcorner is headquartered in Switzerland. Therefore, the revised Swiss Data Protection Act (revDSG) primarily applies. Since Rabattcorner specifically offers its services to individuals in the European Union (including through German-language content, EU shopping partners, and acceptance of EU users), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) also applies to users residing in the EU via the so-called “market location principle” (Art. 3(2) GDPR). The rights listed below coexist under both the revDSG and the GDPR.

In particular, you have the following rights:

  • Right to receive information free of charge about the data stored about you (Art. 25 revDSG / Art. 15 GDPR);
  • Right to rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data (Art. 32(1) revDSG / Art. 16 GDPR);
  • Right to erasure or destruction of your data (Art. 32(2)(c) revDSG / Art. 17 GDPR);
  • Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 of the GDPR);
